Fighting Workplace Negativity

Is your workplace tainted with a negative vibe: complaints, gossip, co-workers undercutting one another? Combating negativity can begin with one person: Might that be you? (Tweet it!)
 
Writing in Forbes , Millennial and Gen Z engagement expert and speaker Ashira Prossack offers these tips for anyone willing to try to reverse the tone of their work environment:

• Educate, don't criticize: Those who interrupt or naysay might be unaware of the impact their actions are having. Offer them specific examples, and be sure to model the behavior you want to shape.

• Don't join in: Don't participate in negative conversations—or, try to reframe the conversation so that it takes on a more productive direction. (Tweet it!)

• Don’t go it alone: If you witness negative behavior, chances are you aren’t the only one noticing it—and bothered by it. Find others who are willing to speak up and use the power of numbers to drive positive change at a faster pace.
